Shooting Disciplines Supported by ISRA

Your ISRA supports a variety of shooting disciplines, national and international:  

  • Precision Pistol
  • F-class Rifle
  • Highpower Rifle

Precision Pistol

What is Precision Pistol?

Precision Pistol is also called Bullseye Pistol or Conventional Pistol and is a one-handed shooting discipline using handguns.  It is considered “The Queen of the Shooting Sports”

Precision Pistol is shot indoors or outdoors at range distances of 50ft, 60ft, 25yd or 50 yd.  Targets used are sized specific to each distance to equalize the difficulty.

Different competition divisions exist for .22 rimfire, centerfire (.32 to .45 caliber) and .45 caliber only.

ISRA Highpower Rifle

Highpower rifle evolved from the service rifle competition, one of the orignal ISRA missions.   Traditional competition is service rifle. originally it was at slow fire prone @ 600 yds, then rapid fire sitting or knealing at 200 yds,  rapid fire prone at 300 yds, standing slow fire at 200 yds.
To compensate for distances that are unavailable, reduced size targets are used.

 

These are centerfire rifles used.

It’s fired in two ways National Match course  20 shots at 600yds slow fire prone, 10 shots at 300 rapid fire prone, 10 shots rapid 200 sitting or knealing prone, 10 shots standing at 200 yds,

500 points max

80 rds match:  20 shots at each stage.  800 points max

Any rifle used by the US military from 1898 or civilain counterpart on qualifies,  Krag, 1903, 1917, M1 M1A, AR15

any sights used by the military on that rifle type.  Often peep sights.
AR-15 can use a specific military style 4x scope.

ISRA Smallbore Rifle

Basic Arrival Description of Smallbore goes here. We support smallbore rifle,  describe linkage w olympic? or a separate category for that?

 

This was originall called gallery rifle, for shooting indoors, in the top of gallery of bleachers, limilted to 22LR rimfire.

Two main competitions, smallbore prone, smallbore three position, prone sitting/knealing standing.  50yds, 100 yds.  reduced targets at 50ft.
