Schoenthal v. Raoul – Plaintiffs file response brief in 7th Circuit Court of Appeals

March 18, 2025

The ISRA files response brief in Mass Transit CCW case appeal

The ISRA has filed a brief in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals for the consolidated cases: Schoenthal et al v Raoul and Schoenthal et al v Eileen O’Neil Burke. Eileen O’Neil Burke is the recently elected Cook County States Attorney, replacing Kimberly Foxx as a named defendant.

This case deals with the right of a licensed concealed carry license holder to carry on public transportation.

This case is now in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals after a win for the plaintiffs Schoenthal et al in US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Western Division on August 30, 2024.

The ISRA looks forward to a favorable verdict by the Seventh Circuit of Appeals. We expect this case to eventually be heard by the Supreme Court of the United States.
