DESCRIPTION:This is a serious Course designed to train and educate students in the correct use and handling of military rifles kept and intended for domestic defense. \nCost: $785.00 \nRegister at defense-training.com \nTopics: \nCorrect gun keeping and handling\nRange etiquette and safety\nApplicability of particular rifle systems\nLethal engagement at various ranges\nShooting positions and use of the sling\nPresentation\, position\, and fire exercises\nSight adjustment\nAmmunition selection\nMovement and cover\nReloading and stoppage reduction\nLongarm/handgun transition\nMultiple targets\nUser-level maintenance\nInterfacing with our criminal/justice system\, \nHandguns will be carried by all students during all the instruction\, so we can practice longarm-handgun transition. You’ll need twenty rounds of handgun ammunition. \nIn addition to a pistol\, you will need a medium or heavy\, autoloading or bolt-action\, military rifle in 7.62×51\, 7.62×39\, 5.45×39\, 30-06\, 6.8SPC\, M1 Carbine\, 6.8×43 (6.8SPC)\, 7.62×35 (300 Blk)\, or 5.56×45 caliber (223). Pistol-cartridge-firing carbines\, such as the Beretta CX4\, SIG MPX\, and H&K MP5\, are also acceptable. Lever actions\, and other\, low-capacity\, sporting rifles are also acceptable. \nSlings are mandatory\, as we will be running a hot range. \nHigh-magnification\, high profile\, close-eye-relief scopes are acceptable. Good\, iron sights are also acceptable and recommended. Low-power\, low-profile\, forward-mounted optics are also acceptable and recommended. \nThe best rifle to bring is a military autoloader. Students should be advised that their rifles will see some strenuous\, rugged use and may get scratched up a bit. Pretty guns are best left at home. You will need three-hundred rounds of rifle ammunition. \nThe Course will be outdoors and will entail some physical activity\, so you will need to dress appropriately (long pants\, long-sleeve shirt\, sturdy shoes). You may get dirty\, so wear something heavy-duty but inexpensive. Sweat-pants\, shorts\, and short-sleeve shirts are not recommended. Bring along an old sports coat or jacket\, so that you will able to draw handguns from concealment. An exception is made for police officers who want to work out of their uniform\, duty gear. \nAll students must bring their own safety equipment\, including safety glasses\, hearing protection\, and a baseball cap. \nFinally\, you will need a gun case or box\, so that you can safely carry your rifle and shotgun and rifle on and off the range. Your handguns may be carried onto and off the range in a holster (concealed\, unless you’re in uniform) or in a gun rug or box. All longarms must be carried on and off the range in cases.
