Other Irregular Rifle Matches at ISRA Range

Besides our Tuesday Night competitions, TNIRL conducts other rifle competitions on occasional weekends throughout the year.  These differ from the “Conventional” Highpower matches conducted at the ISRA Range by Illinois Highpower and American Legion Cook County Rifle League.

The principal differences from “Conventional” Highpower matches are:

  *  These matches follow simplified courses of fire.

  *  These matches cater to “vintage” service rifles and military surplus rifles (Some would call them Jurassic Rifles!)  (Also, the “Low Power” matches, cater to .22 rimfire rifles.)

  *  These scores are not submitted to NRA for classification purposes.  (But they do qualify as organized competitions for CMP qualification.)

  *  All forms in PDF format require Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.05 or higher for viewing. To download Acrobat Reader, visit Adobe's web site.

If these matches strike your fancy, you would be sure to enjoy a Garand Match wherever one can be found.  There is a Garand Match included in ALCCRL’s program every year, and Garand Matches are held at local clubs throughout the state.

Of special note is the inaugural, range-wide Turkey Shoot to be held on November 14, 2009!  Still in the planning stages, this should include a variety of events for handgun, rim-fire rifle, center-fire rifle and shotgun.  It is anticipated that there will be cash and meat prizes and the events will be simple, fun and conducted re-entry style (enter your favorites again and again for additional chances at prizes).  More information will be posted on the main ISRA and ISRA Range calendars as details are finalized.  Stay tuned!
