It's Our Turn Now!

by Don Bekeleski

We finally have a candidate for Governor of Illinois that will sign conceal carry into law and veto all bad gun bills. There hasn’t been anything on our side like this in over 12 years. This is exciting Ladies & Gentlemen!

Here are the candidate’s answers to the AP on gun issues:

Associated Press - December 12, 2009 2:34 PM ET
The Associated Press recently asked candidates for Illinois governor questions about gun-control legislation.

QUESTION: "Would you sign or veto legislation banning the sale and possession of semiautomatic assault-style weapons in Illinois?"

Bill Brady: "I am opposed to any further restrictions to the ownership of firearms as guaranteed in the Bill of Rights and would veto legislation banning the sale and possession of semiautomatic weapons."

Pat Quinn: "I would sign legislation banning the sale and possession of semiautomatic assault-style weapons."

QUESTION: "Would you sign or veto legislation allowing concealed-carry for handguns?"

Bill Brady: "Constitutional rights should be afforded to eligible, law-abiding Illinois citizens, and therefore concealed carry should be legalized.

Pat Quinn: "I would veto legislation allowing concealed-carry for handguns."

That is Senator Bill Brady. It’s up to us to help him all we can to get elected. Work phones, put a sign on your lawn, put a bumper sticker in your back window, anything & everything you can do please do, to get him elected. If we can get a conceal carry bill passed in both houses with some of the changes that I know are coming in the legislature in November, this man’s signature goes on it.

Here in Illinois it has constantly been anti-2nd Amendment governors holding the office. When ever we had a glimmer of hope of a CC bill being passed, we knew it would be vetoed and have to go into override, if it even made it that far. Now a new sunrise is on the horizon! It’s a new day in Illinois. Bask in that warm sunshine and get out the vote for this man.

Just start conversations wherever you go about the upcoming governor’s race. Lead into the conversation that Illinois is far behind all the other states that have conceal carry and for once we could have a person who will sign it into law. Tell them to vote for him & back him. It should not be hard with all the corruption in the state and the way the state is broke, people want a change. So the CC is only a bonus to the change they will get with this man.

Please from the bottom of my heart I am asking you to not sit by idly on this one, but really really get involved with talk, calling talk radio, spreading the word at every chance and every place that you go. People who normally don’t fellowship with many gun owners, but are for conceal carry need to get the info. When you talk about it show real excitement! The person you are addressing will say, ”Wow you’re really into this guy”!  Your response should be: "yes for a good reason and I want you to get excited and help us too."

It’s our turn now, so don’t be a pitch hitter. Step up to the plate. Tell them guns don’t make us unsafe—the government that bans them does!
