It’s the time of the year when all heaviness and sad things seem to disappear
for a short time. Somehow Christmas causes foes and friends to forget things and
come together with a warm feeling in each other’s bosom. People seem more
cheerful; even hold doors open for you when at other times they wouldn’t. It’s a
time of year when all things seem to melt away and friendly, cheerful attitudes
prevail!
It’s also a time when parents are considering maybe buying that first gun for
one of their offspring. I still remember my first gun as if it was yesterday.
When a youngster really is old enough to want a gun of his own, Christmas is a
perfect time to buy one.
It doesn’t have to be an expensive one. There are a lot of good sales on guns
right now with the economy being what it is. I am sure you can find a beginner
gun in the range of $300 t0 $400. If you do decide to get one for your child,
surprise him in a way they will not know it’s a gun. There is no greater thrill
then to think my parents didn’t get me one, to find out they really did.
I would put a small square box under the tree with a note inside saying, “I
could not find a box for the size of your present so I put this note to tell you
it’s under your bed.” This creates a whole lot of excitement in the air when
they walk out with the gun. I guarantee you will never see so many hugs and
thanks from your child.
So if you are thinking of it—just do it this year. You will definitely put a
smile on their face. If you do, please write me back and tell me the whole
story. I would love to read it. The future of shooting lies in our young people!
They have said if you don’t get them interested before the age of 16, they will
find other outlets. This outlet is good clean fun, enjoying more days spent with
your children. The other outlets you may not want to hear about. A kid that
grows up loving shooting and hunting 95% of the time will stay straight and
you’ll be glad you invested in a good future for him or her. Don’t forget to
write me please! To all of you out there from me,
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY BLESSED NEW YEAR!
